Tank Service Swap

BPM Projects was engaged by our Client to convert an above ground storage tank form slops to diesel service, to comply with the Australian Government’s legislation mandating Minimum Stockholding Obligations (MSO). BPM performed the Concept Study and Detail Design with completion of an IFT package and documentation issued for construction.

BPM Projects identified an appropriate and cost-effective engineering solution for piping modifications associated with the conversion. BPM identified a single preferred route for import and export lines which was then used as the basis to develop the Scope of Work, Cost Estimate and Schedule to a Class 4 Capex Estimate Basis.

The project also interfaced across other projects on the Client site to ensure there was no crossover or design impact.

Our Role

  • Preliminary work associated with Concept Study including hydraulic calculations, Line sizing, Preliminary P&IDs, layouts for pipe routes, Preliminary Design Basis, scope of work for Fabrications & Construction
  • Project Risk workshop
  • Design of new import/export lines
  • Design of bund penetration and road crossing for new pipes
  • Multi discipline engineering including Process, Civil/Structural
  • Development of 3D model
  • Pipe stress analysis
  • HAZOP participation
  • Subcontractor engagement and supervision for site 3D Laser Scan and Underground survey (to establish the underground and above ground services as part of the design).
