Tallow Storage Optimisation
Our Tier 1 Client was seeking to provide at least 4,800m3 of combined tallow storage at their major terminal in Queensland. The expansion followed the removal of a tank which was taken out of service and caused a shortage in available capacity.
BPM Projects completed:
- Identification of nine (9) potential options to increase capacity
- Detailed analysis of the two (2) viable options to present a single feasible site location based on reduced complexity, lower environmental impact and excellent constructability
- Project definition to AACEI Class 4 (-20%/30%) estimate with a corresponding schedule, including a defined project scope.
Outcome
BPM delivered an accelerated study with completion within four (4) weeks.
Feasibility of Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) technique for foundations was explored.
BPM also identified that the various options were assessed disqualified early based on an inability to meet HSE safety limits, unpredictable environmental liabilities and potential disruption to terminal operations.
