Cobalt Purity Enhancement Project (CoPE)
Our Client engaged BPM Projects to perform an Independent Project Review (IPR) for their Cobalt Purity Enhancement Project (CoPE).
The review was carried out to determine the degree of engineering definition, compliance to FEL standards and methodology and project preparedness for the project to progress to FEL3 stage.
Two execution models were presented to BPM Projects for consideration:
- Base Case – New standalone Zinc SX (ZnSX and Cadmium IX (CdIX) circuits delivered under an EPCM execution model
- Parallel Case (SC04) – New Copper SX (CuSX), re-purposed Zinc SX and new Cadmium IX circuits delivered under three (3) separate EPC contracts.
Our role
BPM Projects performed a detailed analysis of both cases with full consideration of the risks and opportunities that potentially impacted the investment and business case in order to determine the lowest reasonable risk option for the project.
